  They caught me house-sitting in Houston this morning

  i went outside and to the car this morning for some items and saw some walkers (very slow walkers) approaching, in pairs, a few homes away.

  i knew i had a little time to think.

  when the doorbell rang i was ready.. we've got a few more days here in houston, just north of braes bayou and near stella link rd.

  I like your experience FF and what you said Murray.

  I've always thought what I would do if JW's were to come to my door. No one knows my past JW identity. After "lurking" on this board for a month or two, I now think I would invite them in and try to reason with them; and by reason, I mean doing what they would try to do on a call: plant a seed of doubt against the HH's religious belief.

  It's got to be better than what I did the last time they called. I was sitting at the computer, and got up quick to run and hide from them and immediately stubbed my tow. It hurt for a whole damn week. Did I mention I was naked? Then again, maybe I should've answered the door.

  If more towns worked together like this, perhaps Westboro protests would eventually be shut down. I'm still surprised none of them have been killed yet...but I'm sure they will one day piss off the wrong person and that'll be that.

  In general, what is the ethically correct response if a minor tells you someone is molesting him/her?

  i was thinking about what the elders are trained to do versus what i personally would do if a minor confided in me that someone was molesting him/her.

  i'm not sure what the ethically correct first response should be.

  my first thought is to contact some kind of law enforcement that specializes in investigating situations like this with people experienced in getting to the truth of the matter.

  @djeggnog-I can't help but wonder what the good Lord would have done in his day, upon learning the religious leaders did not protect the flock from perverts who fondled children, or made these precious sheep touch or perform sexual acts on them. Especially if it was ONE OF THOSE RELIGIOUS LEADERS perpetrating these heinous crimes! If he was pissed at the money changers...look out! I'm only guessing here, but I don't think our King would be none too happy 'bout it, nor turning a blind eye, um i mean "2 witness rule"!!

  Your remarks indicate you are one stone cold bastard. AND an elder. Christ! I'd hate to have you as someone to turn to for comfort and encouragement, let alone in a "theocratic investigation". ANYONE who thinks the two witness "rule" is okey dokey needs to have their fuckin head examined! Where the hell is your common sense man!? Where is your love for "God's chosen sheep"? Your compassion? You think the "rule" would be just hunky dorry with you if it was YOUR child? And then, because you love your child and want justice for that loving being of your very own loins, you do what needs to be done outside of the kingdom hall walls and WTBTS "rules", and go to the authorities, in all exhausted hopes that SOMEBODY will genuinely care and do what should have been done in the first place: Make sure this does not happen EVER AGAIN by this person!

Man o man, I am going to pull up a chair and nuke some popcorn on your burning ass as I watch the destruction of you loveless, smug hypocrites! You think just because you are in the "Truth" you will be spared the wrath of God? Well, since you believe you are chosen, you have an even greater responsibility to HIM. Is it not so? I like burnt popcorn, so hope you just don't combust.

  Has anyone run a check on Brother Sexitup yet? He just might be on the national registry for sex offenders. Happened in my old congo.

  "Ones trying to incite Elders into wrongdoing find that it is a very heavy burden upon them for working contrary to God's Will and purpose." COMO? I think many an elder need no help at all from being "incited into wrongdoing." They do a pret-ty good job of it all by themselves.

  the german film starring bruno ganz as hitler, charts hitlers descent into madness and paranoia, as he looses touch with reallity at the end of ww2,surrounded in the furher bunker in berlin, (bethel) a maniac loosing touch with reallity, gives orders and edicts, that evreyone ignores,(they all recognise he has , gone mad, yet no one dare aknowledge it through fear) the only way to find out the truth about what is really happening in germany, is to listen to the allied radio broadcasts(in our day the intrernet) hitler and nazis warned that anyone caught listening to these radio stations should be executed immeadiatley, gb are nazis, and at one time i would have defended them to the point of death, why are they scared of scrutiny ?

  From my own experience, I can tell you that I was a "worldly person" before being baptized in '93, and was in the "Truth" until I started to fade a few years ago. Not once, did I look up anything that I would deem to be of apostate nature.

  We were admonished by the WTBTS not to. In fact, I remember at one convention driving past the "apostates", boards in hand, and quickly turning my head the other way, so as not to be struck by the wrath of the Almighty right then and there for peeping at what Satan wanted them to share with us.

  Thinking at that time that serving Jehovah meant listening and adhering to all the rules and regulations of this GB, there was no way in hell I would EVER go searching for apostate sites. That was about the motherload of all sins!! Right up there with killing yourself and being gay. Well, as it stands now, 2 outta 3 ain't bad, is it?

  i think this was an uplifting and courageous video made by apple employees.

  big thumbs up to apple for their courage in embracing their lgbt employees in this way.

  as part of the it gets better campaign to end suicide among lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered youth, employees at apple have created a video with their stories about coming out and overcoming adversity, offering a rare glimpse into the personal lives of employees of the notoriously secretive company.. .
